We can offer single class or whole school creative projects linked to many aspects of the school curriculum. We could also teach your teachers the techniques they would need and ideas of how they could use felting or willow as a part of your school curriculum.
Previously we have worked with first schools on felting projects linked to school motto and values, with each child in the school creating part of a large wall hanging. Also, we have run felting projects linked to topics such as India and willow projects linked to Christmas nativity.
Workshops can be tailored to your requirements but typically we would work with small groups of up to 12. An hour gives enough time to plan the project, linking it to the topic; teach the techniques required and make the final piece.
If we are working with multiple groups to make a large whole class/school project there will then be a further hour to put all the individual pieces together and finish it off. We can either do this with a group of older children if time allows or we can do that ourselves.
If you are interested in further information or discussing coming to your school please do get in touch.
We believe that nurturing creativity is key to developing self-confident children therefore we aim to keep our prices affordable for schools.
What the Staff say…..
‘To whom it may concern,
I am Head teacher at the Felton C of E First School and I have known Charlotte for nearly 7 years, both as a parent and also through the creative projects she has led with the children our school.
As part of our 40th birthday celebrations, Charlotte worked with the children to produce an amazing felt wall hanging to celebrate all that is unique about us as a school. The children created their own designs and Charlotte was able to ensure that these were incorporated into the final piece, which is now proudly displayed in our entrance hall and greatly admired by all who see it.
As a very skilled willow sculptor, Charlotte is able to use her knowledge to guide children to use willow weaving techniques to create small and large sculptures. Last Christmas, she worked with children to make 4 large willow angels which took pride of place in our outdoor nativity service.
Charlotte is currently running a very popular after school craft club in our school, where children have had varied experiences including felt making and tie dying. Charlotte has a fantastic rapport with the children and is able to teach the children the skills they need to produce pieces of work that they can be truly proud of.
In short, whether you require someone to run an after school club or to coordinate a whole school creative project, I have no hesitation in recommending Charlotte to you.
